The heavy, bulky, and slow school-issued laptop computer was a main topic of the school board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The school board voted to spend a near $1.2 million dollars on new computers and they are having student representatives from both South and North decide on what type of laptop we should get including the features that would be best.
The current laptops were purchased with a four year life span meaning that is definitely time for them to go.
The new laptops would ideally be lighter and slimmer due to them not having the detachable tablet feature since the devices are almost never used that way which would be a major improvement.
Over the next month or so, students at South will be meeting with CRAM teacher Kevin Sparks to make these decisions.
