Are you interested in learning more about where your news comes from? Do you want to have a participating role in promoting a healthy local news environment? Is journalism an interest to you?
On Feb. 29, students have the opportunity to join a diverse community gathering run by the IU Media School that focuses on connecting citizens of southern Indiana to discuss involvement in journalism and support of the local news scene. Participants can join panel discussions with local and regional journalists and editors, attend brief presentations on media values & ethics, and participate in many other events throughout the day. Running from 9:30 to 3 pm, this will be a great opportunity to explore the news community and get connected with others in the field. Along with this, lunch will be provided and each participant will receive a $40 Visa gift card. Participants must be 18 years old and a Monroe County citizen to participate.

A survey can also be taken at the website for those unable to attend the event, but still want to make their voice heard.
