The MCCSC school board met on January 25 and made a few changes to the districts Covid policies. Overall, the changes aimed to reduce quarantine time. Here are the most important changes:
If you test positive for covid-19 you only have to be quarantined for 5 days and can return to school when you have a negative lab antigen test.
Now students will only get a notification if they are at highest risk and had direct contact with an infected person.
If you aren’t vaccinated and were notified as a close contact to a person who tested positive, you can return to school after five days if you don’t have any symptoms and have a negative Covid test.
You can go back to school if you were at home with a single symptom of Covid-19.These symptoms are
- Headache
- Abdominal pain or vomiting
- Cough, sore throat, or fever
If a student is experiencing loss of smell or taste or has more than one symptom, they need a negative test to return to school.
