This year, South’s Purple Carpet Day will be Wednesday, August 30. Multiple clubs will be advertised throughout the white gym, and students will have the opportunity to explore and sign up for them.
Student council advisor Shannon Wenning describes the event as “a way to introduce the clubs and activities at South to students,” as freshmen, sophomores, and new students may be unaware of less-publicized activities.
Additionally, Wenning said Purple Carpet Day is “a really nice way for people to know what all is available.”
Students with Purple Carpet Day passes will be able to report to the cafeteria after first period, while new students will attend for the remainder of second period.
