On March 6th, 2024, the MCCSC Board of School Trustees convened in the context of a “special meeting,” and unanimously agreed, through a vote, to modify current MCCSC Superintendent Jeff Hauswald’s contract, and begin searching for a new district superintendent for the 2024/25 school year. The board will allow Hauswald to remain in his position until the conclusion of the 2023/24 academic year.
Throughout his term as superintendent, Hauswald experienced significant criticism regarding multiple proposed changes to the MCCSC school system, including combined elementary schools, school start-time changes, and a proposed high school schedule change, which sparked extreme pushback from much of the community.
Within a joint statement of the MCCSC Board of School Trustees and Superintendent Hauswald to parents/families, the Board of Trustees stated that “[the school board and staff] have a lot of work to do in Dr. Hauswald’s remaining months and [they] know that Dr. Hauswald, the board, the school community, and the community at large will work tirelessly to continue to move us forward.”
