Last week, students interested in building automobiles as a potential career, got the chance to take a trip to Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. While they were there, students got the chance to watch how car parts and essentials are created and assembled.
Junior Samuel Richards, who wants to pursue a future in the automotive industry, said that what he saw at the transmission’s building will be useful in his future [because] “knowing how the transmissions works will definitely be very handy.”
Even students who don’t necessarily want to manufacture cars, like junior Dmitri Orr, found valuable knowledge on the trip. Orr, who wants to work on cars, said that “seeing how it was put together and how specific stuff works,” was interesting and may help him later on.
Counselor Susan DeVries and English teacher Lauren Mark accompanied the students.
