Paoli Peaks
Located in Paoli Township, Orange County. Paoli Peaks is one of Indiana’s main family friendly ski resorts. They offer skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. This is a great winter experience for those who like to be doing adventurous activities outside whenever they get the chance.
French Lick’s Polar Express
The Polar Express is a classic Christmas movie that agreeably makes everyone wish a magical train would wake you up in the middle of the night to take you to the North Pole. During the winter, the French Lick Resort transforms their Scenic Railway to give you that Polar Express feel. A fun trip on the train includes hot chocolate, cookies, and more. Canopy of Lights
Each year, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Bloomington lights up the square to kick off the start of the holiday season. Join us on the square Friday the 30th for music, warm drinks, food, and many other festivities.
IU Jacobs School’s production of The Nutcracker
For over 50 years, the IU Jacobs School of Music has been putting on a production of the classical ballet The Nutcracker. But just last year, JSOM decided to put a fancy new spin on the ballet, and retell it from the perspective of young Marie who watches the scene unfold. Bloomington’s Holiday Market
To end the Farmer’s Market season, Bloomington holds the Holiday Market outside the Parks & Recreation building at 401 N Morton St. For free admission, you get to listen to loads of local artists, including snippets of Constellation Stage & Screen’s holiday production.
Christmas at the Zoo
The Indianapolis Zoo has a tradition where they have a holiday lights event. They have a festive lighting display, holiday characters that wander about, wintertime animals, a Christmas chorus, holiday themed rides, and so much more, including a new addition: Santa’s Village.
