Multiple South seniors have recently announced their commitment to collegiate athletics.
Cora Mink will attend Franklin College, where she intends to pursue degrees in exercise science and economics. Mink received an athletic scholarship to run track and will participate in various events, including the 100 meter sprint, 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, and long jump. Mink stated that she’s looking forward to “[meeting] new people and [continuing her] love for track into college.”
Molli Lucas will attend IU East in the fall, where she will major in business administration. Lucas received both athletic and academic scholarships and will participate in shotput and discus events. Lucas is most looking forward to, “the atmosphere and advanced workouts” collegiate athletics have to offer.
Danielle Yang will attend the California Institute of Technology, where she will pursue majors in computer science and information/data science, and a potential minor in economics. She will be a member of the university’s track and field team. Academically, Yang said she’s “most excited to work on this project called ‘the voting project’ that Caltech does with MIT under Dr. Alvarez, [which] works to improve voting processes and their modeling.” Yang is excited to “run track and be in the LA area during the World Cup and Olympics.”
