Best Buddies, South’s chapter of the international organization created to pair disabled students with group participants as “best buddies” in order to foster the creation of mutually beneficial friendships and provide disabled individuals with new social opportunities, meets today after school. Today’s meeting is a “pairing party” for students in the group to be paired together, and this Sunday the groups will be participating in a Buddy Walk at 1 PM at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.
Senior Madison Grabowski, president of South’s Best Buddies, said that the club “pairs students in one-to-one friendships with students with disabilities.” The organization hosts parties once a month with pizza and games for participants, and at today’s meeting students will be learning who they are paired with for the year. Best Buddies meets in Mr. Mannen’s room, A241.
