After defeating the Cougars 39-0 on the road last week, the Panthers are ready to move on to the regional playoffs. The only team standing in their way is Terre Haute North; a team South only beat 23-21 earlier this season. When asked about the playoff game, Panthers head coach Mo Moriarity explained, “this will be a big game, and we know it will be tough”. South comes into this game with an impressive regular season record of 9-1 while Terre Haute owns a 4-6 record. This is a very big game with high stakes. The winner will move on while the loser’s season will end. This sectional final is the second time the Panthers play Terre Haute North in a sectional final at home. The first time was last year, a game South won 35-7. The winner of this game will move on to the regional playoffs, most likely facing Castle; a team the Panthers lost to that ended their perfect record last year. Overall, this is a huge playoff game for South due to the circumstances. The game is on November 4, 2016 starting at 7:00 PM here at South. The official student section theme is a “purple out” so make sure to come and watch your Panther football team.
