In three short weeks, summer break will be upon us. With the sunshine out and the students gone, it’s easy to disregard all responsibilities as soon as you exit the school building. However, if you signed up to take an Honors or Advanced Placement English course during the 2017-18 school year, you’re not quite free yet. There’s no need to despair; just curl up in a hammock with your book, and you’ll be prepared come August.
Students taking the following classes are required to complete summer reading: English Honors 9, English Honors 10, AP Literature and Composition, AP English Language and Composition, and ACP W131. Reading specifications can be found on the Bloomington South website at the link below:

Locally owned Book Corner, on Kirkwood Avenue, offers a discount to students. Barnes and Noble and Amazon are also great options for purchasing your summer reading book. If all else fails, bothering an upperclassmen who probably has the book hidden away under a bed somewhere works as well.
