With injuries to starters Trent Deaton, Kristian Pechac, and Chris Bomba, Coach Mo Moriarity has once again had to dig deep into his program to find replacements. Moriarity is no stranger to this though as last year he had two offensive linemen go down to season ending injuries.
He now finds himself up against a solid Franklin Central squad that stars two senior running backs. His answer? 5’4 sophomore Maveric Thiery who has starred in both games for the Panther football team and is looking for a third straight dominant performance. Also watch for a good game from quarterback Gavin Yeskie as he scans the field for rookie receiver such as Sean Azcui and Chase Washington.
On defense Donnell White, Trent Richardson, and Chase Shields will look to shoot gaps and stuff the Franklin Central backs Jaylen Brown and Michael Fritz. A reliable secondary that starts four seniors, Quantrell Porter and Phillip King to name a few, will give the Flashes fits when they choose to put the ball in the air. Another thing people may have forgotten is that Sam Lewis will be back from a one game suspension after an ejection against Brownsburg and is looking to have a strong comeback performance at defensive end.
You can catch your Panthers in action at Ray Skillman Field Friday September 1st as they kickoff their run for a fourth straight Conference Indiana title.
