After months of bus dysfunction, MCCSC has decided to terminate Michigan bus company Auxilio’s contract, effective October 13th. The termination comes after Auxilio was given a multitude of opportunities to right the ship.
MCCSC currently employs 90 drivers, with nine more going through the training process. Many hope MCCSC will return to the system that existed before this school year. You may have noticed an aggressive recruitment campaign in the local newspaper or on MCCSC’s website, which is all part of a broader plan to stop driver shortages and the overuse of substitute drivers.
Many questions remain about the path forward after October 13th. Will there be enough bus drivers? Will the old bus routes be retained? Will students have different bus drivers?
