South’s Hoosiers Outrun Cancer club created an art project as a way to mark the end of this year’s race. PAC committee members junior Jen Crystal, senior Tiffany Ly, and junior Nicki Nguyen organized this project.
For the project, Crystal, Ly, and Nguyen went around the school asking students to contribute to a drawing of a shoe (symbolic of the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer race) by marking a colored dot to represent a person they knew who had been affected by cancer.
Ly and the other members thought the project would be “a way to honor the people this year and the past years”.
The project is showcased in the atrium, outside the auditorium, along with pictures, t-shirts, and other memorabilia from this year’s Hoosiers Outrun Cancer.
