Saturday morning at 10 a.m. marked the beginning of the South vs Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) varsity practice game. Though no scores were made at any point during the 20 minute game, the Panthers definitely held their own; almost the entire game was played in BNL’s defensive half of the field. Overall the whole team preformed well, South’s offense dominated the action on the field and its defense swiftly shut down any scoring attempts made by BNL.
The Panther’s second game of the day was against Bloomington North and ended with South bringing in a 1-0 victory. Although North provided more of a challenge than BNL, South still managed to control a fair amount of the action, with sophomore Audrey Cadag scoring the winning goal about halfway through the game.
Girls soccer coach, Ian Rickerby, was pleased with the effort shown on today the field, but also said it’s important to remember that today wasn’t “about results or scores, it [was] about getting into some contact and getting the practice.”
