South lady Panthers basketball fell to BNL in a hard fought loss 32-38 Tuesday night. The Panthers put up a fight against the No. 8 ranked Stars.
South got off to a bit of a shaky start falling behind 11-6 to end the first quarter. Junior guard Addy Blackwell came off the bench to give the Panthers some momentum with two 3-pointers in the second quarter. Sophomores Kristen Ridner and Lauren Connor came up with a 3-pointer each to contribute to the Panthers 21-17 lead heading to the locker room at the half.
With 4:38 to go in the game the Panthers had a three point lead at 32-29. From there the Stars shooters took advantage of a few missed lay-ups and free throws by the Panthers and converted fouls on the other end of the floor to points to finish out the game at 32-28.
The lady Panthers are now 1-4 with a losses to No. 6 ranked Jeffersonville and No. 2 ranked Pike. Catch the Panthers back in action again this Friday as they travel to Southport.
