On Monday night, August 25th, the South boys soccer team shut out BNL in a 5-0 win to open the season.
South had great ball movement and stayed in control for a majority of the game.
“I think we did what we expected ourselves to do,” said goalie Ryan Yohn. “We moved the ball well and created opportunities.”
Yohn had an easy game, only having to make two saves thanks to the impressive work of South’s midfield and defense, holding the Stars to only two shots on goal.
“Defensively we were sound, our communication and form was great. It was a solid first game,” Yohn said.
Offensively, South had a balanced attack with Aldridge Zajmi, Deo Moore and William Lundell each scoring a goal and Nate Sapal with two.
The boys will play again this Saturday at home against Evansville Harrison at 12:00 p.m.
